Here are some commonly asked questions and answers regarding the HCA and our programs...
Where can I find program descriptions?
Program descriptions can be located on the HCA Website by clicking on the “PROGRAMS” link at the top right hand side of the home page. You can also pick up a program flyer at the Williamsburg Community Centre which contains program information. Or you can look in the Leisure Guide which is sent out via mail every few months before programs start.
My child won’t turn the age required for the program until later this year. Can I register them for this program?
Children registered in the program must be program age by the first class. Participant instructor ratios are based on the ages of the children. The HCA is open to discuss inclusion of some children who may not be of age as of the first class. For further information you must call the Williamsburg Community Centre.
Is childcare provided while I am taking part in a program?
Childcare is not provided during programs. All children under age 11 must be supervised while not in their programs.
How do I register? Can I register online?
To register for programs you can go into the Williamsburg Community Centre and register in person. Visit www.kitchener.ca/williamsburgcc for centre hours.
You can also register online. You cannot register over the phone.
What methods of payment do you accept?
All methods of payment are accepted. We take Debit, Credit, Cash, and Cheque. Cheques are made payable to the City of Kitchener.
Can I postdate my cheque?
We do not accept post dated cheques.
Are there any refunds?
The HCA refund policy will change in accordance with the City of Kitchener refund policy. A 20% administration charge of the full program cost will be applied. Refund requests or a full credit can be left on account to use for future registrations. Withdrawals after the second class are only accommodated with a doctor’s note. All withdrawals will be prorated based on the classes remaining.
Does the Huron Community Association provide subsidy for programs?
Huron Community Association fee subsidy must be arranged 2 weeks prior to the start of registration. Registration with a fee assistance voucher must be done in person at the Williamsburg Community Centre. To qualify for HCA fee subsidy you must be a Kitchener resident and approved by the City of Kitchener Leisure Access Program. A leisure access card must be shown as proof when applying for HCA subsidy. Applications can be found online or you can visit the community centre to pick one up. Please allow sufficient time for the application to be processed. It may take up to two weeks to get your Leisure Access card in the mail.
